Amber Dancy Gooding joined WeGo Public Transit in May of 2020 as the Director of Procurement and Business Diversity. She is responsible for overseeing the purchasing and contracting for all supplies, equipment, professional and construction services as well as the strategic direction for WeGo’s business diversity program.
Prior to her current position, Amber served as the Assistant Airport Director for Business Diversity and Community Programs. In that role, she was responsible for managing the Airport’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Concessions DBE (ACDBE) Programs, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the City of St. Louis’ Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Programs. Prior to St. Louis, Ms. Gooding served in a similar role with Nashville International Airport (BNA). Ms. Gooding is a respected expert in the aviation and transit industry. She has more than 25 years of leadership experience in business development, community relations and strategic planning focusing on diversity and inclusion.
She is a master at developing new programs and effectively presenting proposals to promote small, minority and women-owned businesses. Her awareness of issues affecting Supplier Diversity Leaders has deep roots in her home state of Tennessee. Gooding served on the Tennessee Uniform Certification Program Board and the Tennessee Advisory Committee to the US Civil Rights Commission and she is the former Executive Director of the Tennessee Human Rights Commission. Ms. Gooding is the recipient of numerous awards in business diversity development. In 2017, she received the Airports Council International – NA Medium Hub Inclusion Champion Award and the St. Louis Council of Construction Consumers (SLCCC) Organizational Excellence Inclusion Award.
Ms. Gooding has served on the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) Board of Directors and on the Business, Diversity Working Committee for Airports Council International North America. Amber Dancy Gooding attended Fisk University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from Christian Brothers University and her MBA from Lipscomb University.
